June has officially kicked off the season for many home and neighborhood tours taking place throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. DeRiah Boutique Salon is always excited to encourage the Cedarburg community to come out in August and attend the Cedarburg Cultural Center’s annual Architectural Treasures Tour, but we also wanted to share with you a variety of other great events taking place throughout the Milwaukee area in 2013. Here are some of the tours in our area. Some scheduled later in the season may not yet have tickets available or information on their websites. Check back closer to the day of the tour. JUNE
Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse: Open now though June 16 at 2228 E. Newberry Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $25 at the door. Historic Concordia Neighborhood Tour: “The Modern Day Victorian: From Steam Trunk to Steam Punk.” 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 15. Self-guided tour of 10 historic homes in the Concordia neighborhood roughly bounded by N. 27th to N. 35th streets and W. Wisconsin Ave. to W. Highland Blvd. $17 in advance, $20 the day of the tour; free for anyone dressed in steampunk attire. Cedarburg Cultural Center’s 44th annual Architectural Treasures Tour: Tour four homes and two museums, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 and noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 4. Tickets are good for both days; tour-goers may start and stop at properties in any order. Oconomowoc Memorial Auxiliary Harvest Tour of Homes: Tour six homes in the Oconomowoc area. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28. $20 day of tour, $15 in advance at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital gift shop and area businesses. NOVEMBER
28th annual Christmas Tour of Homes and Craft Sale: Five homes and the Octagon House in Hudson decorated inside for the holidays. Three tour options on Nov. 22-24. From 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 22 black-tie event with tour, cocktail reception, live entertainment, cash bar, appetizers and transportation. A second tour option that day, during the same hours, does not include a reception or transportation. On Nov. 23, there will be a tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that will include transportation. There will be a craft sale at a shuttle site that day. On Nov. 24, there will be a tour from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets range from $18 to $75.
