DeRiah Boutique Salon’s Mequon and Cedarburg stylists would like to extend congratulations to Allen Ruiz, Aveda Global Artistic Director, for receiving the Professional Beauty Association’s North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) top honor of Hairstylist of the Year! Allen is one of only three hairstylists to have ever received this award more than once. Aveda also applauds Geno Chapman for his Contemporary Classic Award (Aveda Guest Artist, Los Angeles, CA), Katy Albright for her Makeup Artist of the Year Award (Modern Salon and Spa, Charlotte, North Carolina), and all Aveda network winners.
The North American Hairstyling Awards is one of the most prestigious hairstyling and beauty competitions in North America, saluting technical excellence and artistic expression in hairdressing, as well as salon design aesthetic and beauty business acumen. As part of the award ceremony show, Antoinette Beenders, Aveda Global Creative Director, and members of the Aveda Global Artistic Team presented a five-model runway show featuring monochromatic hair and eco-friendly hair accessories. Eco- couture punk looks made from trash and other environmentally friendly/recycled materials were worn by models on-stage.
