The holidays may have come and gone, but here at our Cedarburg salon we still have another fantastic, wintery weekend to look forward to. Next weekend, February 4-5 will be Cedarburg’s 38th Annual Winter Fest taking place throughout historic downtown. A family friendly event, Winter Fest is a great place for both kids and adults to bundle up, head out, and have some fun. Check it out… “It’s a blast from the past for this year’s 38th Annual Winter Festival in Historic Cedarburg, Wisconsin, February 4 & 5. Cedarburg Lion’s will tee-off in the snow with yellow tennis balls during the Ice-Burg Open Golf Tournament in Cedar Creek Park, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Hop aboard the tractor-drawn hay wagon to view the Ice Carving Contest entries along Washington Avenue. It’s Now or Never to sign up for the Co-ed Sno-Ball Tournament Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Entry is $50 per team. Call 262-375-7611 for info. Top dogs will compete in the Dog Weight Pull Competition, on a new day, Saturday from 10-4 p.m. in the Community Center parking lot sponsored by Fromm Family Pet Food. Also on Saturday at the Community Center it’s the Chili-Contests. Both Individual and Restaurant participants will compete in separate competitions. Judges will begin sampling the individual entries at 11:00 am. Festival attendees can sample and vote for their favorite restaurant entries from 11:00-4:00. Food and beverages will be served all day. Remember how to “Stroll”? That’s just what to do when theWinter Festival Grand Parade kicks off at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The parade heads down Washington Avenue to frozen Cedar Creek for the start of the Costumed Bed Racing Competition at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. This hilarious cutthroat competition will be followed by the Barrel Races on ice contest at 2:00 p.m. Plus new this year on Saturday, Riveredge Nature Center is offering a snowshoeing adventure along Cedar Creek in downtown Cedarburg. Also, have fun Family Skating daily on the Mill Pond. You’ll find grown-up fun at the Cool Brew, a chance to sample assorted specialty beers and appetizers from area restaurants at6:00 p.m. Saturday, followed by the music and comedy of Pat McCurdy at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. Combined tickets for the concert and Cool Brew can be purchased in advance for $20 for CCC Members or $22 for non-members; and $24 at the door. Tickets are also available for concert only. Contact the Cedarburg Cultural Center at 262-375-3676 to purchase tickets. On Sunday morning it’s the Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center from 8:00-Noon, sponsored by Coldwell Bankers. At 10:30, the “under 7 set” venture outdoors to hunt for treats during the Egg Hunt. The Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement will have live music on Saturday while Cedar Creek Winery offers wine sampling.Anvil Pub & Grille will have an outdoor “snow bar” on their patio.
