New York Fashion Week was filled with great inspiration for everyday styles. One in particular was the gorgeous natural waves at the Elie Tahari show, which were created by Oribe stylist Joey George.
Elie Tahari’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection was inspired by the idea of a futuristic nomadic girl in the desert. Joey George created a natural, organic look to complement the clothes. “No brushes were used-we relied on our hands to enhance the natural texture of each girl’s hair,” said Joey. “Some of the girls needed more texture, so I created a very subtle, almost invisible, wave for them.”
Here’s how to achieve the look:
- Prep the hair by spraying Foundation Mist from roots to ends until the hair is damp. If the hair is thicker and more coarse, layer with Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray.
- Diffuse the hair dry, encouraging natural texture.
- Once the hair is completely dry, use a large barrel curling iron to create irregular waves.
- Finish by breaking up the waves with your hands to create a more organic, natural look and mist with Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray.
